Apple has released the public beta of the next version of its iOS operating system, iOS 10. This means all those interested in trying out the upcoming operating system can now do it.

All that one's needs to try iOS 10public beta is a valid Apple ID> Those who have already registered would simply need to visit the dedicated Apple beta website, login, and download the required files. However, since the version is still in beta stages, it is likely to come with a few bugs.

Termed "biggest iOS release ever" by Apple, the iOS 10 offers a slew of new features including a new lock screen with richer notifications, quick interaction options with apps, and raise to wake feature.

New Siri animations, folder animations, wallpaper and more are also available.

Certain changes to notification centre and widgets have also been made by the Cupertino-based tech firm. New Spotlight animation, rich notifications, proper resizing of third-party widgets are some of them.

While the control centre now comes with some icon tweaks and easy accessing of certain options, the Watch App has also been updated with new 'Featured Complications' section, better autofill sync options, background app refresh toggles and more.

With the iOS 10 public beta, the Apple Music gets the ability for users to shuffle from 'Songs' section, tap on an artist's name to reveal his/her catalog, and others. Playlists also show under the search results.

One of the biggest changes in the iOS 10 is inside the Messages app. The upgraded Messages app can let users delete iMessage apps, access iMessage App Store, experience new keyboards and more. More features will be arriving in future.

It looks like Apple's iOS 10 for iPhone devices might save a few extra GBs of storage on the handset besides bringing other goodies the company touted at its recently-held developer conference WWDC 2016. This might be one of the biggest gifts from Apple for those who own a 16GB iPhone device.

According to a user on Reddit forum, the upgrade to iOS 10 increased the device's available storage by up to a massive 8GB. The user's 128GB iPhone 6s variant, which had 113GB as total storage capacity, after the upgrade increased to 121GB.

Other users on the forum thread confirmed the news and added that it works on iPhone devices with smaller storage capacities as well. While the 64GB iPhone variant showed 58.8GB as total available storage, the 16GB version showed up to 13.1GB available for users. Apple revealed nothing about this at the WWDC 2016 keynote event.

In case you missed it, not only will the iOS 10 save space on the mobile devices, the company's upcoming macOS Sierra will also be cleaning the junk from the desktop and laptop devices saving some extra space.

Apple announced its iOS 10 at the WWDC 2016 conference last week. The tenth version of iOS is, according to Apple , the biggest release of iOS ever. It brings in a variety of new features and an overall improved user experience. Some of the features include redesigned lock screen, smarter keyboard, enhanced photos app, improved Apple Maps, redesigned Music app, voicemail transcription, and an overhauled Messages app. The Control Centre has also been redesigned along with better 3D Touch implementation on other apps.
